I got “tricked” into reading fantasy books by having someone else telling me I should read something and after begrudgingly agreeing to give it a shot, I found myself engrossed in the most beautiful stories I’ve ever read. The stories had a way of engaging me in such a way I had no idea I was reading poetry, or learning about diversity, or how to become a better person.

I don’t see myself as someone who reads poetry or fantasy – and yet, the books, movies, and words that have touched me at some point in my life have always been exactly about that, so I must be someone who loves it.
